The lightbulb for R.O.B.S. to be established lit bright to Cheryl and Lorenzo Pollard in 2007. They believe that all should have the opportunity to follow their hopes and dreams, regardless of adversity, so it was their desire to provide monetary assistance for higher education to students.
The name R.O.B.S. Reach Out and Bless Someone was inspired by the community-driven benevolent works that is dear to their hearts, to honor their nephew Robert “Robbie” Birdsong, Jr.
They pray that one day the organization can provide full scholarships. To date, over $15,000 in scholarships and educational funding has been awarded to students both locally and internationally by supporting UNICEF USA & Lawrence O’Donnell’s Kids in Need of Desks (K.I.N.D.) campaign.
On 29 Jun 2021, R.O.B.S. Reach Out and Bless Someone Scholarship, Inc. officially came to be our own entity!
Dedicated to developing leaders within the churches of Christ who are committed to serving both their church and their community. We seek to enable and encourage student commitment to active life-long learning, personal and spiritual values, responsible citizenship and community involvement.
